I like to balance out my boyfriend jeans with sexier tops. So I usually pair them with crop tops, peplums, or bodysuits so that I don’t look too frumpy. I alternate between sandals and heels depending on my mood, but since I’m so short tennis shoes aren’t an option because they seem to cut my legs off. If you have long model legs then go for it!
How long is the dress? Where are you going? What time are you wearing it? Is the embroidery simple or intricate? There are different ways you can wear it…heels with a clutch, flats with a shoulder bag…it all depends.
Try a maxi dress with an empire waist. The empire waist will give you the appearance of a higher waist, and the free flowing, loose fitting bottom will conceal your bulge.
I would do short dresses with an empire waist and maybe show some skin in the back. The length would lengthen your legs and the empire waist would camouflage your tummy while still giving you a waist.
Right now I’m really into vests so I would try a cream or off-white tuxedo vest to give it a little more style. A pair of flat sandals or a cute pair of wedges would be so bomb!
As far as shoes I would suggest ordering from the designer’s website instead of a department store because the designer’s site tends to have a greater range in sizes. My mom has extremely small feel so she always has to order from the designer’s website or get the store to order a special order in her size.
MAKE A [fashion] STATEMENT. They will have no choice but to interview you. Patterned pants and statement necklaces are trendy; a simple outfit with a drastic shoe; arm candy galore…
Pick one thing to make a statement; top, bottoms, shoes, accessories, and build your outfit around that piece.
This question was submitted one week ago, so we probably responded too late. The reason I still decided to publish was two-fold, the information that Gladyz posted is still useful and I wanted to get this next piece of information out there in the universe…
All of us associated with BGKI have lives, so do not send us a question on thursday asking for suggestions for an event that is friday. If you know that you want assistance for a specific event, submit the question at least one week in advance.
I used to work at Urban!! It’s a great company who really love their staff. Like you said they’re not uptight or conservative in any form. They want to see how you would dress on a normal chill day. I suggest you go into one of the stores and see what they have on the sales floor right now just for a few ideas as well as what other employees are wearing. I went to my interview looking very 70’s hippie chic lol. I wore a peach maxi dress, with a goddess headpiece, and Farrah Fawcett hair. Good luck!! Stay chic!!
Certain trends and styles aren’t made for all body types :( its the sad truth. Your body sounds a bit similar to mine and finding jeans period that fit when your so thick in the thighs and booty can be a struggle BUT what you can do to achieve that look is use “mom jeans”. Those jeans with all that extra space in them will work perfectly for you so visit your closet thrift store or good will. Stay chic!!
First we’ve got to step away from the flat iron. Too much of that can cause heat damage and let me tell you that your edges are so hard to get back once theyre gone. Try massaging your edges and scalp with a mix of oils like jojoba, castor, extra virgin olive oil, and coconut. Just massage it into your hair 2-3 times a week. Also dont wear too many tight pony tails or buns cause that also causes breakage to your edges. Stay chic!!
a great time to expand your collection of hats
Try adding some studs and spikes or a complete color change. You can also wear them differently. I usually wear shorts with just a tank and sandals, but when I wear them with a cuter top and heels they look completely different. Hope this helps. Kill it doll!
Distress them!! Cut and slice them up, then throw them in the wash, and you’ll have a chic, expensive looking pair of dope shorts. Stay chic!!
Firstly check out shopBGKI.com and click on Kemi Kloset there are a bunch of vintage blazers up there that are completely affordable. If for some reason that doesn’t work out for you check out KevinHadden he’s got a mix of vintage and up to date trends on his site. Stay chic!!
light-pastel colors, khaki, and white
I’m personally not a fan of limiting what color combinations you can try, what is the worst that can happen?
Friend: “OMG that looks horrible”
You: “You’re right, I’m changing”
