Half twin Full awesome, read how Men’s fashion inspires Nyane Lebajoa…
What inspires you to blog?
Everyday life. A lot of the people I’m surrounded by are very artistic and quite open minded about fashion so i like to record most of what i do and wear now and then.
How would you define your personal style?
Very 80s/90s with my own artistic twist to it.
Do you find that you follow fashion trends, or do you play by your own rules?
I definitely play by my on rules. Following fashion trends just makes you identical to everyone else.
Items to get, what are you searching for right now?
- Black 90s bomber jacket
- Gold nose-to-ear chain
- Black Gothic Sella Platforms
Are there any colors you tend to shy away from, and if so why?
My least favourite colour is lilac so I tend to stay away from that, but I like every colour because most colours go with our skin tone.
When you hear the term “Black Girl Killing It” what comes to mind?
As a child were you always into clothes or did you grow into your own fashion sense?
I’ve always been into fashion, as a child growing up family would always say i’ll grow up to be a model or fashion designer because of the way i’d combine clothes.
Do you participate in your local fashion scene?
As much as I can. I was part of ‘Winchester fashion week 2011’ which was really fun and I enjoyed working with other models and meeting the designers. I also model for ‘British hair awards’ every year since 2010 to build up my port. Its really interesting because you learn so much from meeting different people from the industry.
How does your day to day life factor into your wardrobe choices?
As I attend college from Monday to Friday, I never plan what im going to wear. I pick a certain outfit depending on my mood and knowing how long im going to spend in college.
What is your greatest fashion pet peeve?
My ‘Black Savannah Koch co. suede leather jacket! Its amazing, it goes with everything!
Have you ever tried your hand at design or sewing?
I do a lot of machine sewing, lately I’ve made quite a few items (leather hot-pants, leather skirt, tie dye top etc.) I’ve also always been able to hand sew but since Ihave a sewing machine its so much easier and quicker.
Are there any designers that you like to wear or whose clothing stands out with you?
I love 'Charles Anastase' because his Ready to wear is simple but also has a pinch of sophistication and indivisuality. I find that Jeremy Scotts new collection is very similar but more inspired by bloggers. I dont own any of the latest leading designers items but i do own a few items from ‘Clubhouse’ and 'Jade Int' which i love too.
Who are your style icons?
I’m mostly inspired by Mens fashion. I Love 'Léopold Duchemin' He is a model and blogger at #Transgenderchild everything he wears has character and is always on point. Also 'Charles Isherwood' a model, he is always ahead of the game! And of course Grace Jones and ‘TheCapitalofcool- By RhaRha & Zandile’.
Your five must-haves as a girl:
- Plain white blouse
- Black maxi dress
- Black wedges or platform boots
- Mens vintage leather jacket
- Any 80s print blazer.
