VIDEO VERSION OF GBEMI FADAIRO’S INTERVIEW WITH BGKI

Stylish, stylish, stylish, that’s all we think about when we interviewed Gbemi Fadairo…

What inspires you to blog?

Comfortability in myself, really.

How would you define your personal style?

Suitable but comfortable. I take a lot of time thinking logically about what to wear instead of just “matching”.

Do you find that you follow fashion trends, or do you play by your own rules?

I definitely play by my own rules! Fashion can be tough to keep up with! And, I am one who doesn’t really like change.

Items to get, what are you searching for right now?

I recently cut my favorite black jeans into ripped shorts so I am in search of new black skinnys! I have my eye on a pair of Charlotte Olympias as well.

Are there any colors you tend to shy away from, and if so why?

It would have to be white, just because with my luck I always tend to stain it somehow! >_<

When you hear the term “Black Girl Killing It” what comes to mind?

Black girls who “crash” it. Fashionable black women who know what style is.

As a child were you always into clothes or did you grow into your own fashion sense?

I have always been into clothes, never fashions. Just clothes.

Do you participate in your local fashion scene?

No, not really.

How does your day to day life factor into your wardrobe choices?

How ever I feel when I wake up, really. I dream a lot, so many times I dress up according to the previous nights dream. It gets crazy, but I do it!

What is your greatest fashion pet peeve?

Spagetti straps over collared shirts. -__- c’mon now.

Have you ever tried your hand at design or sewing?

I’ve thought of it. Many times, actually. But my main focus is my career modeling. So for now, I’ll leave it to the professional!

Are there any designers that you like to wear or whose clothing stands out with you?

There is no foundation to my closet, it is like the United Nations in there. There isn’t any in particular but, I do like Ralph Lauren and BCBG Maxaria.

Who are your style icons?

Honestly thinking about it, I don’t have one.

Your five must-haves as a girl:

  • Pair of pump (Platformed; c’mon its 2012)
  • Watch
  • Boyfriend Blazer
  • Stirr-up pants
  • Long-sleeved black fitted shirt (You’d be surprised how many times you’d find yourself wearing it.)
